EU Vote on Tesla FSD Supervised Pushed Back From October

An expected European Union vote on allowing Tesla's FSD Supervised system across the bloc has been pushed back from October.

Reuters reported on September 25 that the agenda for the October 6, 2026 meeting of the EU Technical Committee on Motor Vehicles (TCMV) lists only a continuation of discussions on the Dutch request for an Article 39 authorization, rather than a vote.

What changed

Tesla had said on September 1 that an EU-wide vote could potentially take place on October 6. The published committee agenda now indicates that no vote is scheduled for that meeting.

The next scheduled TCMV meeting after October is in December, making that the next apparent opportunity for a decision based on the current calendar. That does not mean a December vote is guaranteed.

Why this matters

An EU-wide authorization would be a much broader regulatory step than the country-by-country approvals Tesla has already received in parts of Europe.

RobotaxiGuy previously covered the Czech Republic's provisional approval of Tesla FSD. This new development changes the expected timeline for a wider EU decision rather than reversing those national approvals.

The delay should therefore be read as a timing change, not a rejection of FSD Supervised.

What to watch next

The October 6 committee discussion may clarify what issues still need to be resolved before a vote. The December meeting is the next apparent milestone if the proposal is ready to move forward.
