Tesla's Refer and Earn program remains available in Canada, but the exact reward can change. The stable part is the process: a first-time buyer must start the purchase from a valid referral link and confirm the benefit before submitting the order.
Who can receive buyer benefits?
Tesla says buyer benefits are available when you purchase your first qualifying Tesla product through a friend's referral link.
The current Canadian support page lists Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck among qualifying vehicle products for buyer benefits. Pre-owned vehicles are not qualifying products.
Referral links cannot be added later
This is the most important rule for a buyer: Tesla does not allow referral links to be credited after the order is placed.
A safe workflow is:
- open the referral link;
- sign in to your Tesla account;
- choose a qualifying vehicle;
- verify the benefit shown by Tesla;
- place the order.
Canada-specific details
Tesla's Canadian terms also include regional restrictions. For example, British Columbia residents can qualify for buyer and loyalty benefits but are not currently eligible for referrer benefits.
