Tesla referral headlines often focus on a single dollar figure, but that number can become stale quickly. In 2026 the more useful way to think about referral value is to separate buyer benefits, referrer benefits and the rules that determine whether either one applies.
Buyer value
Buyer benefits are available to first-time purchasers of qualifying Tesla products using a valid referral link. The exact benefit is controlled by Tesla and can change, so it should be confirmed in the live order flow.
Referrer value
When an eligible referral reaches its Grant Date, Tesla adds the applicable referrer benefit to the owner's account. Tesla Credits can be used toward items such as Supercharging, vehicle purchases, service balances, Tesla Shop purchases, subscriptions and upgrades, depending on region.
Tesla also caps the number of qualifying order referrals a customer can receive in a calendar year.
The part buyers should not miss
The referral link has to be used before the order is placed. Tesla's current terms do not allow a referral to be added retroactively.
