Canadian buyers often search for an Ontario, Alberta, Quebec or British Columbia-specific Tesla referral code. The referral mechanism itself is not a separate code system for each province.
What changes by province is the environment around the purchase: taxes, delivery logistics, provincial EV programs and some regional Refer and Earn eligibility rules.
One referral flow, different regional context
A valid Tesla referral link can be used by an eligible first-time buyer ordering a qualifying product. Tesla then applies the relevant regional rules to the buyer and referrer.
For example, Tesla's current Canadian Refer and Earn terms say British Columbia residents can qualify for buyer and loyalty benefits but are not eligible for referrer benefits.
Provincial incentives are separate
Government EV incentives are separate from Tesla's referral program. Their funding, eligible vehicles and deadlines can change independently.
Tesla's Canadian incentives page is a useful starting point because it summarizes federal and provincial programs and links to the relevant government resources.
Alberta, Ontario, Quebec and the rest of Canada
The biggest differences are typically not the referral link itself. They are whether a provincial incentive is active, how much sales tax applies, where the delivery centre is and what local program restrictions exist.
Before ordering, check both:
- Tesla's current Refer and Earn terms; and
- the current federal/provincial incentive rules for your registration address.
